A staple of The CW’s schedule in the US since its debut in 2017, it reaches a global audience through its international broadcast on Netflix and that has single-handedly turned it into a global phenomenon. The cast of Netflix series Riverdale might be all drama on the show, but in their private lives most of them are happily coupled up and intensely private. But outside of the panel, the cast was seen having fun, including Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead, and Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty. They were spotted Saturday night and reportedly (we quote!) “canoodling, holding hands, and kissing.”
Back in high school, one of the biggest questions in Betty’s life was if she was going to end up with Archie or Jughead. Even Jughead went to a prep school that may or may not have been trying to murder him… But compared to some of the other stuff, that wasn’t so wild. While going through his old comic book collection, Jughead is approached by Betty, who is hoping that he can read her subconscious mind and rummage for memories she may her repressed. Jughead doesn’t know if he’s capable of this, but he reluctantly agrees, and after doing some research on memory reading, he and Betty begin. She’s organized her memories into a comic book collection, which allows Jughead to handpick through. The first comic he picks up is of Jughead climbing through Betty’s window sophomore year and kissing her for the first time. The next memory he looks through is from junior year, where Betty expressed her concern that she possibly inherited her father’s evil ways.
Riverdale costars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse play onscreen couple Betty and Jughead. In real life, they dated for nearly two years before briefly splitting in July 2019. Reinhart confirmed that they were back together two months later. Reinhart confirmed that they were back together two months later, but Us Weekly confirmed they called it quits for good in May 2020. Jughead went back to St. Vincent’s and requested a copy of his discharge records, which said he had been treated for a rabies infection. On the other hand, Betty finds herself on the trail of the Trash Bag Killer, which keeps her from attending Jughead’s book launch party. This completely sours the relationship between them, and Jughead even sends Betty an angry voicemail blaming her for hurting most people in her life. Although Betty initially appears to have feelings for Archie, that connection seems impossible with Veronica on the scene.
Betty reads Jughead’s revised novel and wonders what caused him to change his story so drastically. Jughead finally realized what he was saying and how he was saying it. He was revelling in the town’s sickness and enjoying the suffering of another flirtu.al can’t edit profile person. Betty realizes this is because of Honey’s letter and wonders what it said. Before Jughead can respond, Jellybean reveals that they received another videotape. It’s footage of the Lodge cabin, where Veronica’s mom killed Sheriff Minetta.
But did you know that there’s another comic who was also in an adjacent universe? The Black Hood has a HUGE storyline inRiverdale, but in the comic world, he was never in Archie… In hindsight, The CW could totally do a spinoff based around the Black Hood (how he was raised, why he does what he does, his lies to his family…). If you’ve read theArchie comics, you would know that Jughead was definitely the comedic relief in the show. With an obsession with food and a knack for being lazy, Jughead was the silly best friend who wasn’t interested in dating. But in the showRiverdale, Jughead is anything but “humorous.” In fact, I think the comedic light is shown on Casey Cott’s Kevin Keller.
“I’ve girded my private life very intentionally,” he told the publication. “It’s one of those things that I still sort of grapple with and Lili and I grapple with.” He posted a second photo later that day with the caption, “Another one just for good measure.” Sprouse’s Valentine’s Day post read, “Quite actually the only thing keeping me sane is @lilireinhart.”
